Just a year ago, PAAA delved into the ancient sport of archery and took the first steps to establish the inaugural Palestinian Archery Team in North America. Dr. Ali AbuHlaleh spearheaded this initiative with dedication and hard work. Through organizing youth camps, workshops for all genders, and participating in statewide competitions, three archers – Zakaria Zubidi, Janah Abusalem, and Zain Alsharif – secured 2nd place and earned a spot in the National Championship.
The Archery team is looking forward about officially representing Palestine at the upcoming World Youth Archery Tournament in 2024. The young athletes have been training tirelessly, honing their skills and perfecting their techniques in preparation for this prestigious event. With each arrow they release, they are not just aiming for the bullseye but also for a chance to bring pride and recognition to their homeland. Their dedication and passion for the sport are evident in their disciplined routines and unwavering focus.
For the Palestinian Archery Team, it represents a chance to inspire others with their resilience and determination. As they take to the field, bows in hand and hearts full of hope, they carry with them the dreams and aspirations of an entire nation.
